Our business

The Oil Derivatives Trading Desk provides bespoke vanilla and exotic derivatives to corporate and investor clients globally.


Key responsibilities

  • Pricing and managing derivative risk including linear and non-linear trades in both liquid benchmarks and illiquid crude oil grades around the world
  • Model proxies for client requests on non-exchange traded crude oil underlyings using historical relationships and forward fundamental expectations
  • Generate incremental client business using existing network and develop new prospects for the sales desk
  • Develop a model for Brent time spread options and establish JPMorgan as a liquidity provider in this space
  • Trade execution, booking transactions and portfolio risk management on a daily basis
  • Develop a balance for North Sea crude oil fundamentals using company level production data, tanker tracking, refiner demand

Requirements

  • Candidate must have experience managing a derivatives portfolio with linear and non-linear risk
  • Client must be able to price derivatives on Brent, Dubai, WTI, Maya, US gulf coast grades, WCS, as well as derivatives on differentials between the above and time spreads
  • Candidate must have a track record of successful capital deployment in the oil trading space
