Job Role Summary

• The Scheduler is responsible for developing, recommending, and implementing the end-to-end supply and logistics activity for crude and/or oil products

• The Scheduler is responsible for the movements via various methods of transportation: pipeline, marine, rail, truck

• This position may also manage inventory upstream or downstream of the refinery (primarily in pipelines and terminals)

• Job Location: Spring, TX (Houston)

Job Role Responsibilities

• Coordinates and communicates effectively with traders, refineries, sales and marketing to forecast and plan in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

• Partners with trading team to identify and capture market opportunities

• Schedules the movement of crude and/or oil products via various methods of transportation: pipeline, marine, rail, truck

• Nominates requirements to pipeline, marine, rail or truck carriers; interacts with third parties daily to execute molecule movement

• Manages inventory to agreed operating targets and year-end levels

• Maintains supply reliability to refinery, marketing and/or third party customers.

• Develops deep understanding of optimization, logistics, market conditions, operational costs and contract terms

• Provides feedback on logistical capabilities and limitations of the ExxonMobil supply chain system in support of the development of long range integrated supply and distribution strategies

• Uses commercial judgment and problem solving skills to solve operational problems

• Supports refinery, pipeline and terminal volume growth initiatives

• Ensures adherence to credit guidelines, regulatory and quality compliance, and transportation policies (i.e. vessel screening process)

• Serves as key interface between accounting and the business line ensuring third parties are paid accurately and timely

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business or related discipline 

• Minimum of 5 years experience in logistics or scheduling/coordinating petroleum supply

• Experience in Refining, Pipeline, Chemical Operations or a Trade Floor is an asset

• Solid proficiency in use of MS Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

• Proficiency in SAP and Tableau is a plus
