The Senior Manager, Financial Risk Management will function as a key subject matter expert in financial risk management. This function works closely with commercial and other Finance departments to develop, implement and monitor strategies to manage financial risks, including commodity price risk, foreign exchange and interest rate risk. This position will be key to driving collaborative discussions with a variety of functions and must be an open and proactive communicator. Ensure that the company maintains its focus on risk control and also provide value adding decision support by assisting commercial through various financial risk reports and models.
Roles & Responsibilities
Lead a team that performs a number of P&L and inventory reports to executive management that range from a broad view of the company to the detail level of crude, feedstock, refined and petrochemical products, and derivative positions.
Coordinate financial modeling process to assess and to forecast financial risks for both the consolidated organization as well as at a business unit level.
Manage deal life cycles from front to back office of finance and commercial activities including hiring and managing of relevant peers.
Proactively support executive management with risk analysis and P&L reports on business units.
Implementing risk and finance controls as well as credit, market, operational and regulatory policies in line with corporate strategy for managing financial risks.
Establishes policies and processes for the purpose of ensuring the company’s financial risk is maintained within agreed limits and shares responsibility for creating an effective reporting process for commodity positions and P&Ls.
Manages the implementation of policies, procedures and systems to manage the risks resulting from financial transactions.
Developing policy on risk management
Designing, implementing and managing risk management processes & reporting tools
Work with commercial representatives to understand business strategies impacting financial risk management and anticipate future needs.
Is alert to trends and patterns in Finance and proposes innovative risk management solutions to address these Educating subsidiaries and other departments on the content and implications of compliance with Global Treasury Policies and highlighting the impact that non-compliance can have on the group.
Interface with departments such as Controlling, Segment Controlling, FSS, and Tax.
Minimum of 10+ years in finance and/or commercial experience, including experience in commodity market systems, analysis, and trade execution.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or economics (MA, MBA, MSC).
Strong mathematical and statistical modelling skills and exposure to concepts such as VaR, EaR and CFaR.
Good (treasury) accounting knowledge, especially regarding hedge accounting strongly preferred.
Preferably knowledge about the energy industry
