Position Description

  • Daily execution of physical trades, including communication with suppliers, customers and freight vendors. Contract formation, supply chain management, position management, accounts receivable management
  • Price discovery through ascertaining bids and offers on physical commodities
  • Requires a high volume of communication with key players throughout the marketplace
  • Cold calling and developing relationships with new suppliers and customers
  • Ascertain supply and demand trends within the marketplace
  • Successfully negotiate purchases and sales
  • Maintain and develop relationships with freight providers including truckers, rail carriers and other modes of freight
  • Communicate effectively with other team members and provide bottom line accountability to team members in all areas of trade execution
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment while managing mission critical details
  • Ability to work independently while communicating with a team
  • Ability to quickly develop a good rapport with vendors and lead them to decisions

Position Requirements

Must be able to sit in an office environment with moderate noise level for extended periods of time. Position requires constant communication over the phone and via email or other written correspondence. Candidate must be able to use the computer to enter and retrieve data, correspondence, and other information as required. A 4 year college degree is preferred.

Professional Experience

  • Minimum 5 years commodities trading experience with bottom-line P&L accountability

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. This individual will also be required to travel between branch locations as required.
