Chevron Supply and Trading (S&T) provides a critical link between the market and Chevron’s upstream, downstream and chemicals companies. We provide commercial support to our crude oil and natural gas production operations and to our refining and marketing network. The analytical roles that support our trading teams are comprised primarily of Commercial Analysts (CAs) and Business Analysts (BAs) . BAs conduct analysis within Chevron to monitor organizational performance and develop business plans to support trading efforts.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Analyze earnings, exposure and mark to market to explain and report business performance
  • Work closely with team members in trading, operations, accounting, risk control and other global trading offices to manage and analyze commodity earnings and exposure
  • Support the development of the business plan and Business Managers with internal analysis
  • Partner with other Chevron organizations and/or departments to identify and facilitate analytical process improvements
  • Join multi-functional project teams on new business and process initiatives

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years of experience with business, market and/or financial analytics
  • 3+ years of experience in the energy, manufacturing, transportation and/or finance industry
  • Team player and ability to work in fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Digital mindset and innovative thinker
  • Believe in getting results the right way
  • Passion to grow in the trading organization

Preferred qualifications:

  • Business, Finance or Accounting degree
  • Trading organization experience
  • Knowledge of gas, crude and/or refined product commodities


Your role will support the Crude Supply and Trading (CSAT) organization. CSAT buys, sells and transports all major grades of crude oil. CSAT secures the best prices for selling Chevron’s upstream production and for purchasing crudes used by our refineries. CSAT works closely with Chevron Shipping Company, Chevron Pipe Line Company and third parties to transport crudes for customers around the world including Chevron's Americas Products and International Products organizations.
